Clinton, Trump in tight race in New Mexico
Copyright © 2016 Albuquerque Journal
WASHINGTON Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton holds a slight lead over Republican Donald Trump among likely New Mexico voters in a four-way race, while Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson is pulling nearly a quarter of voter support in the state, according to a Journal poll.
The poll numbers appear to reflect the gloomy mood of voters regarding the presidential candidates and the state of the country.
Sixty-three percent said they believed the country was on the wrong track.
Clinton received 35 percent support and Trump 31 percent support. Twenty-four percent of New Mexicans favored Johnson, a former governor of the state, while 2 percent favored Green Party candidate Jill Stein, according to the poll conducted last week by Research & Polling Inc.

Donald Trump Admits "Renaming New Mexico" Will Be His First Act As President
The Republican frontrunner Donald Trump, has confessed to a room full of university students in Georgia, that his very first act as President will be renaming New Mexico. The revelation came during a Q&A at Valdosta State University, where Trump was campaigning.
Eyewitnesses say that around the midpoint of the forum, a first year psychology student began a question directed at Trump, by identifying herself as New Mexican. The U.S. presidential candidate immediately rolled his eyes and interrupted the young woman. Oh were definitely changing that, he said. No please, continue. But when I get in there, New Mexico is gone.
When asked to elaborate by the moderator, Trump opened up, revealing what his first act as President of the United States will be. I mean come on, New Mexico? Are they really serious? My first day in office, Im changing that name so fast, itll blow their sombreros straight off.
The 19 year old student looked stunned, and asked why Trump would want to rename her home state. Listen sweetie, Im here to make America great again, not Mexico. Alright? the billionaire responded sarcastically. Theyve got a real problem in that state with illegals, drugs and crime, and dont even get me started on the rapists.
